Hi! I'm Jeff.......
Hello fellow Fab Academy students and anyone else who happens upon this page. My name is Jeff Willauer and I am a Technology and Engeering teacher and new Innovation Center Director in Waunakee WI, just north of Madison. I am a 2001 graduate from the University of Wisconsin - Stout and have been teaching in Waunakee ever since. I am participating in Fab Academy this years because our school just finished construction of a new fab lab we call the Innovation Center. The goal of the lab is to allow students, faculty and community to chase their dreams. We are billing this space as a "YES" space where dreams can be chased in a safe and supportive environment.
In the 16 years I have been lucky enough to call Waunakee High School home I have had the exciting opportunity to teach almost every course we have to offer in our department. Classes range from Auto Mechanics, to metal working, from construction to yearbook. We have a complete Project Lead The Way engineering track. I have been tasked with brining our Innovation Center online and working with other classes, departments and teachers to bring students into the space to see where their minds can take them!
